Pastor

Rev. Bowen and his wife Patty were married in 1977. They have two children Bethany, and Marcus. Hank was born and raised in San Diego. He attended San Diego State University and California State University, Northridge, where he received a bachelors degree in Business.
Following his graduation Hank and Patty and moved from Southern California to Sacramento in 1983. While in Sacramento they joined the Sacramento Covenant Reformed Church. During his time in Sacramento Hank served as both a deacon and elder and was involved in starting several congregations in Northern California.
In 1987 Hank entered Mid-America Reformed Seminary in Orange City, IA. During his time there he was instrumental in starting the Trinity Reformed Church in Sioux Falls, SD. In 1990 Hank was ordained to the gospel ministry. He assumed the pastoral responsibilities of Grace Reformed Church in Willows and Covenant Reformed Church in Chico. During his last eight months in Willows he also preached at Faith Reformed Church in Anderson while it was without a pastor. Hank observed, “One of the unique aspects of accepting this call to Anderson was that my family was already familiar with many of the members of Faith Reformed Church.”
In 1998 he accepted a call to St. Paul¹s Evangelical Reformed Church in Hamburg, Minnesota. Hank renewed his love for ice hockey, both playing and also coaching at an elite High School level.
In July of 2003 his family returned to California with his acceptance of the call to become our pastor. His heart for missions and love for preaching the Bible to the people of God has become the catalyst for a new chapter in the life of our church.
